I was able to squeeze in a little scrapping time today. I worked on Beth and Pat's wedding album. I won't get much more done tonight since I'll be watching Ethan, and tomorrow I am going to Ruth's baby shower. Maybe I can do a little more scrapping tomorrow night.

Visit to the dentist
Well, I went to the dentist today for my tooth that had a piece break off while I was eating popcorn. As I thought, I have to get a crown. I did find out that the dental assistant is a scrapbooker. We talked about scrapbooking, well as much as I could with half my mouth numb, and hopefully we'll be able to get together soon to do some scrapping. At least something good came out of my visit to the dentist.

Memorial Day Weekend
It's been a busy weekend! Friday night I went to Beth's apartment and spent some time with her. Andy ended up staying the night there. When I got home, I went right to bed. I was exhausted after the busy week I had.
On Saturday I did a lot of running around getting everything I would need for the cookout on Memorial Day. Then Beth and Ethan came over and Beth ate dinner here. I did a lot of housework since I knew that I would be watching Ethan on Sunday.
Sunday afternoon, Beth brought Ethan over for me to watch while she was at work. We had fun playing, and Ethan did a lot of smiling. My Mom, Grandma, Ethan and I took a ride out to the cemetary to visit my Grandpa's grave. Ethan fell asleep on the way home from the cemetary. Beth came to pick Ethan up and go home, but my Dad had brought over some chicken over, so she stayed and had some for dinner. After Beth took Ethan home, I began the task of making potato salad . . . 10 pounds! I made so much because I knew three people would be taking some home. When I finished the potato salad, I laid down to rest and watch some tv. That's all it took, I fell asleep for the night.
Monday morning I made some cupcakes for dessert and then made homemade macaroni & cheese. My Mom, Dad, Grandma, Beth and Ethan came to have dinner with Andy and me. I grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone was full at the end of our meal. After everyone left, Andy went into his room and played video games and I relaxed and watched tv. Too bad I broke part of my tooth off while I was eating some popcorn. One of those unpopped kernels was hiding in the fully popped corn. At least it didn't really hurt. Guess I'll be making a trip to the dentist tomorrow. At least I'll be able to leave work early.

Been Busy Moving My Daughter
Boy, it's been busy since last Friday. We've been moving Beth into her apartment, and we still have more stuff to move. I haven't been able to do any scrapping, but soon I'll have my scrap room all set up and will be able to scrap as often as I want. It sure will be nice to not have to drag all my scrapping stuff out to the kitchen to scrap and then have to drag it back to storage.
I'm really looking forward to the long weekend. It will give me time to get everything done around the house that needs to be. Hopefully I can squeeze in some time to work on Beth's wedding scrapbook as well.

I get my scrap room, but it's kinda sad
I will finally have a room dedicated to scrapbooking. The sad part is that in order to have this, it means that Beth has decided to move out. She isn't moving far, so I'll still see a lot of her and Ethan, but it's still going to be a lot different. I knew this day would be coming, but wasn't looking forward to it.
Tonight she showed me the townhouse she is moving into for the next year while her husband is deployed to Iraq. It is nice. We went and bought her some pots and pans, cooking utensils and a toaster, as well as dishes, glasses and silverware. Beth will be getting Pat's furniture from his Mom's. Jane is also giving Beth a sleeper sofa. So she really doesn't have a lot more to buy.
After Beth has completely moved out, Andy is taking over her room. I will be taking over Andy's room as my scrap room. Luckily I already like the color on the walls, so I'll just have to move all my stuff in and then figure out how I'm going to decorate the room. It will be fun!
I probably won't get much scrapping done this weekend, but it will be well worth it because I will have a dedicated area for scrapping. I won't have any excuses then.

Relaxing Evening
Tonight was such a relaxing evening compared to yesterday. Yesterday I took my daughter to get her military ID. After that it just seemed like I had all kinds of errands to run. Well tonight, we didn't have anything we had to do. So I decided to do a little scrapbooking and here is the layout I got done.
Working towards my goals
I feel like I'm on my way to start reaching some of my goals. I had posted earlier that the word I picked for 2008 is ACHIEVE. One of my goals was to scrap more, which I have done since joining the 100 layout dash on the CKMB. I need to do a layout titled Achieve and list my goals. Hopefully I can complete that one soon.
I also have been sticking to my budget a lot better. We haven't been spending on frivolous things, only what we really need. This has also allowed us to spend even more quality time together as a family.
Hopefully soon I'll be able to post that I have met the goals I have set for myself for 2008.

Need to scrapbook
I've been planning to do some scrapbooking for two nights now, and of course I haven't done any yet. I did print some pictures though, so I guess that is a start.
The weather was beautiful today! It was in the 70s. I think tomorrow is supposed to be the same, except it might rain late afternoon. Sounds like it might be a good scrapping night afte I watch Big Brother. I'm really glad that some of these shows are starting to end. They are fun to watch, but do tie up a lot of time.
Beth took Ethan to the doctor today. Boy is he growing! He is 6 months old, weighs 15 pounds 5 ounces and is 25 1/2 inches long. No wonder he's getting heavy to hold at times.
Well, it's time to head to bed. I hope to be able to post a completed layout tomorrow.

Update . . . . way overdue!!!
I've really got to get better about updating my blog. It's been a real busy time lately. My daughter got married on Good Friday. My grandmother was in the hospital and then a nursing home for rehab, but she is now at home and doing fine.
I actually did some scrapbooking yesterday! I made a 2 page layout to enter in a contest at the scrapbook store. Now I'm going to find out how to add pictures of the layout in this post. Wish me luck!

Friday is finally here
I'm so glad this work week is finally over. The week really seemed to drag on. It also didn't help that I wasn't feeling well today. I came home and slept a little bit and felt somewhat better when I woke up.
Tomorrow I'm hoping to get some scrapbooking done. The only thing I have to do is take my son for an appointment in the morning. One project I want to work on is a Valentine's Day card for my grandson's first Valentine's Day. It is going to be a fun project , and I can't wait to get started.

ACHIEVE
After seeing a post today on the CKMB, I chose my word for 2008 . . . . ACHIEVE. I chose this word because I plan to achieve all of the goals that I have set for myself this year.
First and foremost is to make a budget and stick with it! No more caving in to my whims or those of my kids. I also want to set aside a lot more time for scrapbooking and start using all the supplies that I have stocked up on, as well as all the fun tools I've accumulated.
Some other goals are: spend even more quality time with my family, update my blog on a regular basis, lose weight, walk a lot more and start saving money early for Christmas so I'm not scraping it together at the last minute. I'm sure I'll be adding more goals the more I think of them.

It's Been A Long While!!!
Wow, I can't believe it's been almost six months since I last made an entry. I had a very busy year in 2007. My daughter, Beth, had an adorable baby boy on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 10:40 a.m. His name is Ethan Edward. Needless to say, I've been very busy helping out with his care, especially since they live with me.
We had a nice holiday season, although it seemed to fly right by. Next year will be more fun because Ethan will be old enough to enjoy it.
I'm looking foward to 2008 being a good year. One of my goals is to try to make time to do some scrapbooking (it's been forever since I have done any!) and to update this blog on a regular basis.

Weekend Update
Saturday started out kind of slow. Slept in a little, read a book and then just did a few things around the house. At 3:30, Beth and Kevin left for work.
A little after 5:00, Andy and I went next door for Alex's graduation party. They had a pig roast, and surprisingly, Andy liked it! It was good. We left the party about 6:45 and waited for Beth to get home from work to go back over. We went back over somewhere around 9:30. Andy enjoyed it more the second time because one of his friends was there. Beth enjoyed talking to a few people she hasn't seen in a while. I sat at a table with Donna, Nancy and Maureen. About 11:30, Beth left to pick Kevin up. After they got him, Beth and Kevin came over to the party. At about 1:45, Beth and I finally left the party, with Kevin and Andy coming home about 5 to 10 minutes later. Just as we were shutting things up for the night, we heard a load screech and then a bang. We all went running down the street afraid that it was someone who had left the party at Donna's. It was not, but it was a man who had been drinking and ran into a parked truck. The man ended up telling the police that he had been drinking alcohol in mixed drinks and he has no insurance. I'm sure he was very sorry about his mistake once he sobered up! We didn't get home from the scene of the accident until almost 3:00! I was supposed to make a birthday cake for Mother and Andy, but I was just too exhausted and it was too late.
On Sunday, Beth and I went to Meijer to get a cake and ice cream, along with birthday cards. I wasn't able to get Andy as much as I wanted, but explained to him that I would get him more once I get paid on the 15th. I will get Mother something then too. We did have a cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs. It was a beautiful day! After we ate, Andy opened his gifts and Mother opened her cards. Then we had cake and ice cream.
We watched The Next Food Network Star and the Food Network Challenge: Villian Cakes last night on the Food Network. They were both good. Now we are looking forward to watching Hell's Kitchen tonight.

TGIF!!!
I'm sure glad the weekend is here! I had been thinking it was one day ahead all week, which made for a really long week.
Yesterday I got my hair cut. My hair was past my shoulders, but know it is above my shoulders and is "spikey" in back. I'll try to post before and after pictures tomorrow. I went to a new stylist with Jennifer, and I really like the way she did my hair. Our appointments were at 7:30, and I didn't get home until afte 11:00! It took longer because Jennifer got her hair colored. I only got a cut. I'm going to call and make an appointment for highlights.
Tonight Beth took Andy and I to dinner at Family Affair. I saw Steve and Connie (Steve & Tim's parents) there. We talked for a bit, and then I joined the kids at the table so we could order. Then as they were leaving, they stopped by our table and talked some more. It was nice to see them, since it's been quite a while since the last time. I've known them since I was in grade school. Their oldest son, Steve, was one of my first boyfriends. Their other son, Tim, was one of my boyfriends in grade school too. Steve and Tim are also a couple of Russ' best friends.
I checked Andy's grades on line tonight and he is passing to 8th grade! YEAH!!! I have already warned him that next year if he has any missing assignments, he will not be playing video games during the week. Hopefully that is incentive enough for him.
Well, as soon as Beth gets home from picking up Kevin, I'm heading to bed. I have to go shopping in the morning for Andy's birthday present. Beth is going with me. In the afternoon tomorrow, Beth has to work, and Andy and I are going to Alex's graduation party. I hope to also do some scrapbooking tomorrow.

Got my car back!!!
I was so glad to finally get my car back yesterday afternoon! It's awful to be without one. It was almost $280 to fix it, but at least it's running again.
Well my daughter Beth got her hair done last night. She ended up getting her hair dyed a dark brown, which is a big change from her normal blonde. It doesn't look bad though, and her hair looks really healthy. I get my hair cut tomorrow evening and I'm not sure what I'm going to do. My hair is now just past my shoulders, and I'm thinking of getting it cut shorter again. Something fun, but yet professional.
After Beth got home from getting her hair cut, we (Andy, Beth, Kevin and me) all went to the fireworks store because Andy and Kevin wanted some more fireworks. Andy got bottle rockets, aircraft carriers (boats with planes with firecrackers) and "little dynamite" firecrackers that can go in water. Kevin got the same, and also some strobe light things. They were really bright! On our way home, we picked up subs, pizza and bread from Marco's for dinner.
Today is Andy's first day out of school. He sure is glad that it's over! Now he gets to stay up late at night and sleep in the next morning.

Planted Flowers
Well, I finally got my flowers planted today. Last year I bought the flowers, but never got them planted. My goal was to not let that happen this year, so I'm glad I met that goal.
Now I need to start scrapbooking more so I can get caught up. I have a TON of supplies, now I just need to use them. lol
I'm hoping to hear about my car tomorrow, since it broke down last Thursday. I sure hope it doesn't cost too much to fix it.
I'll try to update my blog more often. Hopefully I can update it every day.

First College Visit
Yesterday, November 5, 2005, we went for Beth's first college visit. We went to the School of Advertising Art in Kettering, Ohio. It was a very nice college, and Beth really liked it. The admissions person we spoke with liked Beth's art, but said she wanted to see two illustrations from Beth using graphite pencils. We'll probably go to another open house in January and take the illustrations with us.
We also need to find out the tuition and if there are any dorms or living arrangement for the school. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive from home.
I'd be excited for Beth if she decides to go there, but I'd also miss her terribly at home. The only good thing is, it isn't that far away.
After we got back home, Jared picked Beth up and they went to his house. My Mom, Andy and I went to Barnes & Noble (to pick up a gift for Beth's friend), Michael's (to pick up graphite pencils for Beth) and Krogers (for food).
The rest of the evening was spent just relaxing.
