Birthday Cards

Yesterday was my son's 18th birthday, and it was my mom's birthday as well.  It's been so busy with end of the school stuff for my son, that I was short on time to make birthday cards.  Anyway, here are the two cards that I whipped up for their birthdays.

Here is the card I made for my Mom.

Here is the card I made for my son.

Here is the screen shot from my Gypsy for my Mom's card:

I used the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge for the cake and it was cut at 2 1/2 inches high.  I used a card base bought in a pack from Hobby Lobby, the background cardstock is from The Paper Studio Birthday Extravaganza paper pack and all solid cardstock is adhesive backed cardstock I bought from QVC a few years ago.  The buttons are from the 3 Birds Cute As A Button kit I bought from HSN.

The car was cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge at 2 1/2 inches high, Happy Birthday was cut from the Gysy Wanderings cartridge at 2 inches high and the Candles were cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge at 1 inch high.  I used a card base bought in a pack from Hobby Lobby, the background cardstock is from The Paper Studio Birthday Extravaganza paper pack and all solid cardstock is adhesive backed cardstock I bought from QVC a few years ago.

I think the cards turned out pretty good considering I completed them both in about 45 minutes.

Simple Birthday Card

I made a very simple birthday card tonight.  I used the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge.  Here is the screen shot from my Gypsy (sorry it's blurry).

I ended up not using "may all your wishes come true" (the upper right hand corner) because it was too big for my card.  "happy birthday" was cut at at height of 2" and all the ice cream cone parts were cut at a height of 5".  Here is the paper laid out on the mat (I didn't use the pink in the upper corner):

All cardstock except the yellow is Bazzill.  The yellow is The Paper Company from the Pastel Value Pack.  The base of the card was from a package I bought at Hobby Lobby.  The patterned paper on the card is from a kit I purchased from QVC quite a while ago.  It doesn't show, but on the tan stripes, there are polka dots.  Here is my finished card:

Now I'm going to sign and seal my card so I can send it off tomorrow.  I hope you like my card.

Thanks for stopping by!
